Check a job before you send your CV
A short, repeatable source check for a more focused GCC job search.
The Gulf Careers editorial desk
Start with the original employer page, not a forwarded screenshot. Search the employer’s official website independently and look for the exact role or requisition number. A logo, business address or convincing job title is not proof that the sender represents the employer.
Compare the title, city, requirements and application route. If the original notice has disappeared, do not assume a copied listing is still open. Save the source link and the date you checked it. Ask the employer through contact details found independently if something conflicts.
Read what the job actually requires. Separate essential qualifications from preferences. A role advertised in one GCC country may involve a different worksite, shifts or travel. Do not assume that accommodation, transport, relocation or sponsorship is included when the notice does not say so.
Pause if someone demands payment, a bank login, an OTP or urgent document transfers through an unverified channel. Confirm the recruiter’s authority directly with the employer before sharing sensitive material. This site does not collect CVs or process recruitment payments.
Keep a simple application log: employer, role, source, date applied, closing date and next action. Prefer a small number of well-matched applications over repeatedly sending a generic CV. A source check reduces uncertainty; it does not guarantee an offer or continued availability.
